Personal Timeline
Early Childhood
My first encounter with animation came during visits to my grandmother’s house, where I watched SpongeBob SquarePants and other cartoons on Cartoon Network.
Since I was very young at the time, my memories are somewhat fragmented, but I distinctly remember being fascinated by the humor in SpongeBob, Tom & Jerry, and other classic slapstick cartoons. Simultaneously, I was also exposed to Japan’s beloved national anime series such as Sazae-san, Chibi Maruko-chan, and Doraemon, which became a regular part of my early anime
experiences.
Elementary to Middle School
It was during my elementary school years that I fully embraced my path as an otaku.
The turning point came when I discovered Neon Genesis Evangelion and Tōhō (Touhou Project). These two works had a profound impact on me, shaping my interests and perspectives on anime culture. (I will write more about each of these series separately in future articles.)
By middle school, I had already watched Dragon Ball from the original series to its latest sequels three times over. Many of my friends at the time were also deeply into anime, introducing me to new series and subcultures, further expanding my knowledge and love for the medium.
High School to Present
Until high school, I was just an anime fan—watching, discussing, and enjoying the medium. However, I soon realized that I wanted to share my passion with the world.
Having watched countless anime, I know there are still hidden gems and underrated series that people might not be aware of. That’s why I decided to write articles about these series, as well as cover Japanese internet memes and niche cultural trends that are unique to the local anime community.
About This Website
I was born in Kochi Prefecture and raised in Saitama Prefecture, growing up as a full-fledged otaku.
In recent years, Japanese anime and manga culture have gained immense popularity worldwide. Through this site, I hope to introduce Japan’s rich cultural heritage to an international audience—whether it’s through anime, food, or my personal experiences and perspectives.
What Makes This Website Unique?
Unlike large-scale anime news sites, this website is a one-person operation, meaning my writing might not be as polished or widely recognized.
However, what sets this site apart is that I grew up immersed in anime culture from a very young age, allowing me to write about Japan’s anime past, present, and future from an authentic perspective.
I may not update frequently, but I hope my readers will enjoy the content and support the journey.
